I first fished Petit Prêtre at the end of 2023 and fell in love with the place. It’s an easy drive from Calais and has well managed but natural lakes.
There are actually 3 lakes, 2 of which have carp to 60lb+ and you will not be troubled by catfish, or for me more importantly, Bream!
I had hoped to get on there again earlier in the year but circumstances have unfortunately kept me away.
Well… I was already booked on a session down in Limoges, so, thought it made sense to drop in at Petit Prêtre on the way back?! Afterall, it’s only a slight diversion off the route back to Calais and meant I could fish it again without having to pay extra tunnel / tolls / fuel
That’s the reasoning I employed when I presented my case to the other half anyway ! Fortunately she’s in no rush to have me at home messing the place up so I got the go ahead – HAPPY DAYS! 😁
Petit Prêtre has 3 lakes, Temple, Cloisters and Temple. All are nicely kept with comfortable swims but Bob has kept the surroundings as natural as possible so is a picturesque venue
Temple is the smallest of the 3 lakes with the younger fish in it but still has carp to 40lb so great for less experienced anglers
Cloisters and Chapel both have carp to over 60lb and a good head of 30s, 40s and 50s
See site for more info
The drive down to the lake from Calais is a really straight forward one and pretty much follows the A26 most of the way
